Golf Digest's 2020 Hot List - Best Golf Clubs

Writer: Bogey FettBogey Fett

I, personally, play with all Callaway clubs, except for my putter which is the TaylorMade Spider X. Not that I'm biased, but I was first fitted for iron clubs and for whatever reason, I stroked those Callaway Apex clubs much better than any others. (Side Note: Yes, if you haven't been fitted for clubs, DO IT.) To show my unbiasedness (don't think that's a word), I truly think that the TaylorMade P790's are the best looking club on the market. When I went to get fitted, I was hoping those were the clubs that would fit my game. Turns out, the Apex irons were the way to go for me. Now, I'm not bashing my irons one bit as they are on the Gold List with all 5 stars and I absolutely love the way they feel, the sound they make, and the accuracy I get when stroked properly. I just personally like the look of the P790's, which my buddies Nasty Nate-O & Pimp D play with. But don't tell D I said that because his head is already way too blown up.

I also play with the Epic Flash driver from Callaway. There again, I didn't set out to stack my bag full of Callaway, my swing did. I stroked all kinds of drivers with my technician until I was between the Epic Flash & the Titleist TS2. It just seemed that I was destined for Callaway because it just felt a little bit better when swinging. Now, personally, I do love the look of the Epic Flash so I'm not complaining.

For my woods... When I got my driver fitted, I just held onto the specs. from that wood and ordered the Callaway Epic Flash 3 Wood online. I also went ahead and bought the Apex 3 Hybrid to complete my bag for long sticks.

Truth be told, I did kinda sell out to Callaway when getting my wedges, though. I bought the Callaway 56 degree Mack Daddy. I thought the name was cool and already had some bomb Callaway clubs, so this would fit in well. It did, and I ended up getting the 60 degree Mack Daddy.

Nasty Nate-O & Pimp both just got the Taylormade SIM, but haven't been able to try it on the course. Stay tuned to see if they were able to KeepItInTheFairway.

Feel free to comment below and let me know what clubs you use and how you like playing with them.
